Neighborhoods
A huge part of a student's decision for moving off-campus is deciding which neighborhood is best for them. At the University of Arizona, the four main locations of the university's 23 dorms are called districts. These districts overlap with the official neighborhoods that surround the university's off-campus area.
The neighborhood of North University is located between Speedway Boulevard and Elm Street to the south and north respectively. Apartment complexes located within this neighborhood include Zona Verde at the University, Meadow West Apartments, and Palm Shadow Apartments. There are also a couple of fraternities located in this neighborhood. This neighborhood is within walking distance of the law school, aerospace and engineering building, the college of management, and the college of pharmacy, making this neighborhood a great place for students in these programs looking for UA off-campus housing. This neighborhood has some overlap with the university's Historic District and the North District.
The West University neighborhood is located between 6th Street to the south and Speedway Boulevard to the north. Main Gate Village, University Apartments, and University Lofts are off-campus student apartments located within this neighborhood. The Kaibab-Huachuca Dorms and the Arbol de la Vida Dorm are also located within West University. This neighborhood is home to the University of Arizona Global Center, a student union, making this neighborhood perfect for students looking for apartments near this building.
Rincon Heights is located south of UA between 6th Street in the north and 12th Street to the south. Those who choose to live in this off-campus neighborhood may choose to stay in Campus Crossings, Wildcat Canyon Village, Studio Apartments, or Mountain Plaza Apartments.
