    Moving off-campus at Sacramento State comes with a variety of options in housing and neighborhoods. The Upper Eastside Lofts are the only university-affiliated off-campus housing and Sac State students that live there benefit from close access to campus.

It sits less than a mile from the university and was finished in 2019, so the living spaces are quite new. Sac State also has special carpool permits, which students can share with roommates or friends. Students living near campus have the advantage of taking the shuttle onto campus and not needing a parking permit.

    California State University – Sacramento has on-campus police nearby and on-call. They offer safety escorts for students that do not feel comfortable walking somewhere. There are also Emergency Blue Light stations dotted around campus for extra security.

    Students living off-campus, but nearby to Sac State, can find groceries at a few different places.
