Ann Arbor itself also offers bus services within the city and to nearby communities through the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority, otherwise known as “TheRide.” TheRide works closely with academic institutions in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, offering current University of Michigan students, faculty, and staff unlimited access to TheRide's fixed-route bus service with a valid yellow Mcard. Additional benefits of TheRide include discounted fares on ExpressRide, free parking at any of TheRide's Park and Ride lots, access to an employee vanpool program, and connections between U-M Bus Routes and TheRide Bus Routes at certain campus locations. If you need to get to the airport, transportation is available through the MichiganFlyer.

    Parking

The University of Michigan offers free parking on Central Campus Monday-Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. However, parking space is often limited.

Another parking option for UM students is Student Storage Parking. This is designed for students who bring their vehicles to campus but do not need to access them frequently. Student Storage parking is available to all students on a first-come, first-served basis.
