There's Campus Crossings on Brightside, The Villas on Brightside, Blox at Brightside, and Retreat at Brightside Apartments. These options are also conveniently located to shopping and dining options, and are along the LSU bus route, making it easy to get to and from campus.

Closer to campus, there is another cluster of apartments that offer off-campus housing options for LSU students. This includes Tiger Plaza & Stadium Square, Cambridge Apartments, Gaslite IV Apartments, Tiger Park Apartments, and Latitude 30 Apartments.

On Burbank Drive, there is even more options for off-campus housing, including Wildwood Baton Rouge Apartments, The Exchange at Baton Rouge Apartments, and Arlington Cottages & Townhomes. There is also the College Apartments, Bordeaux Apartments, The Oliver Apartments, and The Armstrong Apartments. These apartments are also within walking distance to multiple dining options, like Sonic Drive-in and Pluckers Wing Bar for late night eats with friends.

Dining

There are plenty of restaurants around Baton Rouge for LSU students to enjoy. Just off campus, on Highland Road, there is a variety of eating options to fit LSU students' budgets. Students can get a quick bite at McDonald's, The Chimes, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Jack in the Box, and Kaminari Sushi and Hibachi.

Down Burbank Drive, there is are plenty of dining options, including Nine Dragon Chinese and Bogie's. Near off-campus apartments, like the Cambridge Apartments, there are even more options for students that are over 21 years old, like Mike's in Tiger Land, The House, and the college-oriented club, Reggie's.

Transportation

Louisiana State University offers the LSU Tiger Trails Transit System, a free bus service for LSU students, staff, and visitors, both on and off campus. Students can download the TransLōc mobile app for real time tracking of the buses.

Students can also use the Campus Trampus service at Louisiana State University. This service provides door-to-door service seven days a week, from 5PM to midnight. They offer rides to and from campus for LSU students, faculty, and staff.

Parking

LSU Students living in off-campus apartments near campus may opt to drive to and from campus instead of using the LSU Tiger Trails System or a bike. Louisiana State University offers permits to those parking on campus on a yearly basis, which is available for a single academic year (Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters).

For students looking to have cars and live in off-campus apartments, they can purchase a Commuter permit from LSU.

Safety

When it comes to safety, Louisiana State University has Stay Safe LSU, a university initiative dedicated to the safety and security of the university's students, faculty, and staff.

LSU Shield is a mobile app that is free to LSU students, staff, faculty, and their visitors. With the app, users can call emergency services with one button, submit non-emergency reports (with photo or video) anonymously, and two-way chat with LSU police. Users can also make sure emergency contacts are notified of their safety and location.

Shopping

Louisiana State University students have plenty of options when it comes to shopping near their off-campus apartments. In the Highland Village Shopping Center on Highland Road, there is the Walmart Neighborhood Market, Oriental Food, and Winn-Dixie for every student's grocery shopping needs. There's also a Trader Joe's located off Perkins Road.

In Village Square on College Road, there is more options for grocery shopping, dining, and shopping. There is a Walmart Supercenter and Albertsons as well as a Goodwill and Hobby Lobby.

As far as retail therapy goes, there is the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge, which offers the traditional mall experience of dining and shopping.
